APECO Signs US$150 Million LNG Power Project Agreement in Aurora

On 26 October 2026, the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority signed a memorandum of understanding with US-based ARQ Development and Philippine partners SC Megaworld Construction and Development Corporation and HML Technologies to explore an LNG-based power generation and substation project in Casiguran, Aurora. The initial investment commitment is US$150 million, approximately ₱9.45 billion, with an initial capacity target of 50–100 megawatts and longer-term expansion plans of up to 2,000 megawatts to support data centres, hyperscalers and industrial facilities.
